Black Velvet: The British Cocktail With A Queen Victoria Connect

2.

Black velvet hails back to the mid 18th century when a bartender created it in London to show respect and mourn the death of Britain's former queen, Queen Victoria's Prince consort.

3.

The black colour of  ‘stout’ symbolises the black armbands worn by the mourners. It combines equal portions of just two ingredients- stout and champagne.

4.

30ml stout 30ml champagne

5.

Take a wine flute and slowly pour the champagne first. Top it off with a generous splash of stout.

6.

Black velvet is ready to serve. While it isn’t served with ice, you can add a cube or two if you wish.
